Biography:
TaiTe are a highly rated four-piece melodic punk rock band from the Monmouth area, and have been together for around 2 years. Founder members Will Marangon – Guitar and Lead Vocals, and Alex ‘Forbo’ Forbes – Bass Guitar and Vocals first met in Monmouth 5 years ago, and their similar tastes in music and humour made it seem like a logical step to form a band.
Forbo introduced Alex Berger – Drums, to the band in the summer of 2002, where they went on to win the Monmouth Festival Battle of the bands, winning the honour of supporting the legendary ‘Bad Manners’.
Rob Randall – Lead Guitar, previously a schoolmate of Forbo at Monmouth Comp, joined the band in January 2004 to add another dimension musically and to live performances, thus completing the line up of the TaiTe.
TaiTe’s main influences include bands such as Green Day, Blink 182, Rancid and Foo Fighters. Other bands that have inspired TaiTe over the years have been Radiohead, Pearl Jam and any guitar driven music with soul and integrity.
All raised on quality bands by their parents, the members of TaiTe are out to emulate their heroes, and crack the music industry both home and abroad.
TaiTe’s live performances are always full of energy, with some Blink-esque banter often being thrown in-between the songs. The band has been steadily moving from smaller local venues, into more prestigious venues, such as the Bristol Bierkeller and has developed quite a taste for playing to a larger crowd.
Having recorded their debut E.P entitled ‘Dead End Job’ in the summer of 2003, TaiTe have been working solidly the past few months developing their sound as a newly formed four-piece with their sights set on progressing in the music industry.
TaiTe have recently recorded their debut album entitled “Its all about the Mustados” produced by John David at Berry Hill Studios.
The album contains a wide-ranging mix of original TaiTe material, written over the past 7 months.
Having developed their own sound and now being confident in their own ability, TaiTe has progressed into a band with a distinct writing style, driven by hard hitting melodic punk/rock riffs, soaring melodies and catchy lyrics.
